Transparency in the Use of Artificial Intelligence
Last updated: August 2026
We use Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a supporting tool in the creation, editing and optimisation of content and digital services.
How We Use AI
AI may assist us in particular with researching and structuring topics, drafting and revising texts, and creating and editing illustrations, graphics, images and other visual elements.
In addition, we may use AI to analyse, categorise and process information, as well as to improve our digital services and processes. For us, AI is a tool — responsibility for our published content remains with us.
Editorial Content
AI may be used to support various stages of editorial work. Content is editorially reviewed, edited or approved to the extent required for the respective content. Editorial responsibility for the content we publish lies with us and is not transferred to an AI system.
Images, Graphics and Illustrations
Our websites and publications may feature images, graphics and illustrations that have been wholly or partially created or edited using AI. AI may be used in particular for symbolic images and illustrations to depict topics and situations visually. Such depictions do not necessarily represent real persons, companies, places or events that actually occurred.
Individual pieces of content will be labelled where required by law. This applies in particular to artificially generated or manipulated content where the presentation could create the impression that a real person, place or event is being authentically portrayed when this is not the case.
AI in Customer Interactions and Digital Services
We may use AI-powered systems to support customer service, to automate responses to enquiries, or to improve the user experience. Where an automated AI system is in direct contact with users, we will make this clear. Users may at any time request to be connected with a human contact person.
AI Systems We Use
In the course of our activities, we use AI services from established providers. These may include:
- Language models for text and content generation (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic)
- AI-powered image generation and editing
- Automated analysis and categorisation tools
The AI systems and providers we use may change as technology evolves. When selecting providers, we pay attention to data protection compliance and adherence to applicable legal requirements.
Responsibility and Transparency
We view AI as a tool to support human work. The use of AI does not change our responsibility for the content we publish. We regularly review our approach to AI and adapt our processes and transparency measures to new technical developments and legal requirements — in particular the provisions of the European AI Regulation (EU AI Act).
